Wā: Pearls and Entrails explores the concept of residual wā—the intangible space that lingers between moments, between people, between touch and absence. Inspired by John Baldessari’s words, “When you are looking at two things, don’t look at them, look between them,” I am drawn to the nuances of separation, intimacy, and the traces left behind.

I aim to articulate the ineffable—those fleeting, transitional spaces that shape our emotional and physical connections. My practice grapples with the boundaries of togetherness and distance, questioning the ways in which we seek to bridge the unfathomable gap between ourselves and others. Within this tension, there exists a liminal intimacy, both binding and unsettling, that continues to echo long after presence fades.

This work builds on my ongoing exploration of human connection, desire, and the complexities of relational space. It extends beyond past inquiries into intimacy within private realms and broadens into a reflection on the emotional weight of absence, longing, and the unseen forces that pull us toward and away from each other.

At its core, my practice embraces unreserved honesty, reflecting personal experiences and contemplations. I seek to create works that are visceral, profoundly personal, and deeply affecting—pieces that invite the viewer into a space of recognition, evoking an emotional response that lingers like a whisper between what was and what remains.
