Evolving both as an artist and individual, my aspiration is to embrace unreserved honesty to create work that serves as a self-portrait reflecting my experiences and contemplations. Making without trepidation, even to the extent of discomfort, has become incredibly important to me. My ultimate objective is to fashion works that are distinctive, profoundly personal and that stimulate a visceral emotional reaction from the viewer.

My recent body of work aim’s to articulate the ineffable and to identify and characterise the transitional spaces that exist between two people.

This exploration involves grappling with the boundaries of separation, navigating the nuanced spaces between near, far, together and apart.  It seems that within our shared existence, there is a liminal intimacy that acts as a polarity, invisibly binding us and it is the aftermath of this intimacy that lingers in our heads, hearts and other body parts.

Building on my previous works, which have entailed delving into concepts pertaining to the nuanced dialogues that transpire within the intimate enclave of the bedroom. The “Wā” series extends beyond this to explore the human desire to bridge the unfathomable distance between one and the other and how that can manifest. I will question the different needs relating to space and the allure of togetherness.
